Notes and Feedback

“It is with great pleasure that we recommend Debra Hilliard-Jones, RDN, LD, CLT as a referral source to your patients. She has aided the patients in our obstetrics and gynecologic office with their nutritional needs for several years. She is both professional and kind while providing our patients with a positive attitude about their nutritional health.”

“I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your cancer prevention workshop. You made it easy for me to understand, educational as well as giving me some great new ideas. I would be interested if you had additional workshops that would be appropriate for me”.

I always thought of myself as being in good shape, I have always exercised regularly etc… When I found I had high triglycerides, I wanted to do what I could to improve them. I was hesitant to start taking prescription drugs at my age (31) and thought I would try diet first. After meeting with Debra, she helped me target exactly what needed to change in my diet to lower my triglycerides.
It turned out I was eating a lot of the wrong things. After 2 months on my new diet my triglycerides went form 475 mg. /dl to 124 mg. /dl.      -  Matt

Dear Debra, I just wanted to write and let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you at my Mom’s appointment. You are very personable and clearly have a realistic approach towards cancer, nutrition and diet. Thank-you for making me feel included and useful and thank-you for helping to take care of my Mom.

I was very sick with an undiagnosed chronic illness when I first met Debra earlier this year. I had been to doctors who just wanted to hand me a prescription to mask my symptoms without taking the time to find out what my underlying issue was first. I now have a doctor who respects my decision to treat my condition as naturally as possible and who is willing to run most of the tests so he can monitor me and so I can get the information for my Nutritionist. Debra is extremely compassionate and honest. She gets right to work from the first visit and she has been a lifesaver for me this year. I have made great strides in my overall health and quality of life through my client relationship with her. The protocol she introduced to me began to heal me in significant ways even prior to my medical diagnosis, which came months later. Meeting with Debra has been the single most important factor for restoring my health to a manageable level. I would encourage anyone to utilize her services and her wealth of knowledge. In fact, I already have. She is a healer in the purest sense. My family and I owe her a great deal of gratitude.

“You asked, if it was good to have my life back… I never had a good physical quality of life. My Mother told me food had effected my digestion even as an infant. I am so thankful for the Leap MRT food sensitivity test and your experience in working with my complicated gluten and food sensitivity history.

“After being diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2, and not being educated properly by my PCP, I knew I had to take charge of my health. Meeting with Debra was the best thing I could have done. I knew I had to make a Lifestyle change. She made the transition the easiest thing I have ever done. With her knowledge and experience, she opened up a whole new world for me. I have lost weight the healthy way, and for once have managed to keep the weight off with no struggle. She has taught me how to take charge of my Diabetes and keep my A1C down to a normal consistent range. I feel great and healthy and its all because Debra has been amazing at teaching me everything I need to know to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I highly recommend. Debra without any hesitation what so ever . She is very caring and genuine and makes you feel positive about being and wanting to be healthy. “

My name is Dedra, a forty-nine year old woman diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in March of 2016. At the time, my HbA1c was an 11. My journey with Debra began with the goal of managing my disease with diet and exercise instead of pharma drugs. Over the course of three months, My HbA1c went from 11 to 6.0 and I lost 30 pounds with Debra’s guidance on food management and natural supplements. Currently (Dec. 2016), I have lost 52 pounds and have a HbA1c of 5.5. My numbers continue to drop with no medications. Debra has encouraged me as I wept, challenged me in denial, and guided me in making appropriate decisions for my body. She is holistic in thinking and individual in methodology as she believes each person’s body is unique. She listens with compassion, holds you accountable in your responsibility, and collaborates respectfully. I highly recommend her as I know she has provided me with the tools I needed to be successful in this journey.
Debra’s/your guidance has been such a significant part of my healing and getting into remission. At the age of 41, seemingly out of the blue and quite suddenly, I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I am a mother and public health professor, and have lived as healthy of a life as I possibly can. So, this diagnosis has been quite a shocking, scary, and life-changing experience for me. My GI docs have not provided nutrition education as part of disease management, which has baffled me given my disease is in my gut. I am incredibly thankful for Debra’s help with navigating the nutrition part of this chronic disease. Thanks to Debra, I have delicious new recipes that I love! I have a better understanding of foods that I should avoid and foods that I can enjoy. Thank you for your gentle spirit, knowledge of research, and your guidance on this journey.
